UNEQUALED BOUTIQUE HOTELS
The quiet bayside of Ocean City with memorable sunsets.
Built on the edge of the bay between The Lighthouse Club and Fager's Island Restaurant & Bar. 12 individually designed and furnished suites-Beautifully done.
Our History: In 1975, John Fager built Fager’s Island on 60th Street on the bay. The restaurant, with its open-air atmosphere and decks, live plants and picturesque sunset views, was different than anything else in Ocean City at the time, and it was a success, quickly evolving from a seasonal venture to a year-round destination.
The all-suites Lighthouse Club Hotel — two bridge crossing from fager’s Island restaurant, The Edge — was built in 1978. The building, modeled after the Thomas Point Shoal Light on the Chesapeake Bay, hosted three different restaurants until Fager bought the building and converted it into a hotel in 1988. Still, even with the success of the restaurant next-door, opening a bayside hotel was a risk.

The door had a hole where a lock should have been. Rust stains showed in the recessed lighting. The shower had mold. The Keurig barely worked, producing only lukewarm coffee, we never recieved fresh complimentary breakfast other than what was in the mini refrigerator upon arrival and the creamer provided was expired. This is basic upkeep, and it wasn’t being done.
Your reception out front are not very friendly. The lady who worked before was so sweet and inviting. If you arrived early she would kindly inform you that the room is not ready, but you're welcome to use the pool, sit in the parlor and we will call you when the room is ready. The two entitled ladies seated behind the front desk, grunted " you're room is not available until 4pm, give me your number and we'll text you when it's ready". Never to be heard from them again. They did not text us. Service was even worse. I called the front desk six times in less than an hour, each time being placed on hold for more than five minutes. When my partner finally walked over, staff were gathered outside laughing and socializing as if they were all on break. Turndown service, which used to be a highlight here, had to be specifically requested from housekeeping—something I’ve never had to ask for before.
It's advertised as newly remodeled room, well you seriously need to fire your sub contractors and design team.
The new vinyl flooring was installed poorly, with the first step buckling up already unsafe. Someone is going to get hurt if it isn’t fixed, mold in the shower, rust on the receeding lights, that glass table, be careful with placing items on it, it is not secured to the base of the table. Yes it has the best views and the quietness of it all, is what appealed to me in prior visits, but this newly remodeled room left very little to desire.
Based on this experience, I seriously question ever returning.
