Oyster & Scales

I went here for my anniversary. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was amazing. What was lacking was the food. The pricing was a little steep so me and my partner decided to get small bites to see if we’d like the preparation of the food first. Most of what we got was pretty underseasoned and underwhelming. The waiter was excellent no complaints there. He may have been a bit stretched thin, so getting him to come over to pay the bill took a bit longer than expected. We didn’t end up ordering entrées. The steak was pretty good, but everything else left some room for improvement. Also, it’s worth noting we went there for the oysters, but you can’t get orders of mixed types. Meaning you have to order sets of six or 12 of the same type of oyster you cannot mix and match. Finding this out was pretty disappointing because we did come here initially for the oysters. All in all, it’s a cute spot for a date, but I don’t know if I’d spend a ton here.

We went for brunch and ended up going back for dinner as well. It was the first night the rooftop was open, and there are just a couple of kinks to work out, but overall it was a great experience. The staff was extremely welcoming and the food was very high-quality. Best scallops I think I’ve ever had. The cocktails were amazing and creative. I really liked the Velvet Sin bourbon and blackberry concoction. The one with cantaloupe was good too. The decor is super upscale and very classy, so different from what the Marina Deck used to be in that same space. We will definitely be going back frequently, and especially cannot wait to be able to try one of their tasting dinners.

This place is CLASSY!!!
Very upscale dining… but surprisingly enough our bill wasn’t much more than lunch at a popular tourist lunch restaurant!
We ordered a half dozen oysters, 2 main courses AND A DESERT! Plus a few mocktails that were delicious!

The serving sizes were that of an upscale restaurant but in our opinion were just right!

Dining with a great view, great aesthetic and fabulous food is highly recommended!

The flavor profile was sophisticated just as the setting and all the staff were friendly and professional!

I would ABSOLUTELY dine here again!!!!
May go back tomorrow but would probably dress a wee bit nicer lol!
