We came here based on the recommendation of a local we ran into and were lucky to get a last minute reservation. We ended up being so glad we changed everything and came here. We were sat outside and had a nice table right on the bay with a happy anniversary sign on our table. I have to say it was nice to have that as well as the waitress said happy anniversary because most restaurants never acknowledge that when you put the occasion in the notes.
The drinks were awesome and I loved the hobbit themed drink names. The food was amazing, I got the wedge salad and crab cakes and my wife got the swordfish special of the evening. Everything was tasty and delicious. The staff were all friendly and we had excellent service, and loved the outdoor seating as it was a beautiful night to sit outside. Definitely recommend it , and would go back anytime we visit again.

Amazing! My family and I have been coming to OCMD for almost 25 years. My husband and I stumbled upon The Hobbit last year and we could wait to return this year. Everything about this place is incredible….the food, the service, the view! The crab cakes were the best I’ve ever had with ZERO filler! Just all lump crab meat! There aren’t many new places for us to try here, but we are so glad we found this and it has quickly become one of our favorites. We will def be returning each year!

Wow...where to start? I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday/our 2 year anniversary. Afterward, we went to the beach where I proposed and the tone for the night was set so well by our server, Angela. She made the night so special with her amazing service (amazing is not the word I want to use, because there is no word to describe how good of a server she is.) Her recommendations were so on point, she went above and beyond to make a connection with us and her smile lit up the deck every time she opened the door.
Speaking of the deck. The view was spectacular! Make your reservation 2 hours before sunset and I promise you will have an amazing view of the bay.
Angela said Chef Dan was a genius in the kitchen and oh boy...the food coming out of this kitchen is a love letter to the industry. Chef Dan has an understanding of flavor and texture the likes of which I have never seen. Please go out of your way to eat at this restaurant.
